HALTON HILLS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE announces new Board of Directors

 

Halton Hills, October 5 2010 – At Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce’s recent Annual General Meeting, delegates voted in the new 2011/2012 Board of Directors.

Returning as Board Chair is Kathleen Dills. Kathleen is a very proud 4th generation resident of Acton where she resides with husband Steve Hartnagle and their two boys, Matt (20) and JD (22). Kathleen is an enthusiastic volunteer with Heritage Acton and the Acton Town Hall Centre restoration project. In addition Kathleen is involved in the Halton Hills Cultural Round Table and the Big Daddy Festival, Acton BIA, and Light Up the Hills. Kathleen is also the National Sales Manager for Derma e, a California based natural personal care company, working out of Acton.

“As a resident and business person in Halton Hills, I believe that the Chamber plays a vital role in linking business and community.” says Ms Dills. “The Chamber proactively addresses issues affecting its members and therefore our broader community. It is absolutely critical in these times to have a strong business community that works together.”

Appointed to the Executive Committee as Chair-Elect is Glen MacDonald, Georgetown Chevrolet Buick GMC and as Vice-Chairs, Steven Prestipino, Express Employment Professionals and Carman Widdess, Georgetown Chrysler Dodge Jeep Fiat Ltd. Cindy Steffensen of Steffensen & Co. Professional Accountants is returning as Treasurer. Also returning as Past-Chair is Helen MacCormack of Investment Planning Counsel, Halton Hills.

Returning to the 2011-2012 Board to complete their three terms are: Cor Baarda, Knowledge Management Enterprises; Trevor Buttle, Buttle and Tavano Chartered Accountants; Denise Dilbey, Royal LePage Meadowtowne Realty; Wendy Farrow Reed, Georgetown B.I.A., Art Skidmore, Halton Hills Community Energy Corporation and Tracey Wellon, TY Virtual Assistant.

Joining the Board this year to begin a three-year term is Michael Huggins of Mindwalk Internet Marketing.

Regarding the new appointments Ms. Dills stated, “We have an impressive slate of new and returning Board members from a broad cross section of local businesses, and each will contribute their own unique skills and expertise. I am excited about the chamber’s future and working with our new Board, the Town of Halton Hills and the community at large, and to being an advocate to help move business forward.”
